Butterflies

I remember studying that "Panama", the word, in an Indian language spoken here when the Spaniards came, means "abundance of fishes" or "abundance of butterflies". That is why the country received this name. We do have a lot of fishes...that I knew. But never before had I noticed the butterflies until recently. I think we are in a time of the year where there are a lot of butterflies, because I've been seeing them a lot, all the time. Isn't it curious how you can know something, but at the same time not having really experience it, like if it hasn't sank in. It was like if my eyes were opened for the first time and saw what they meant in the books with "abundance of butterflies". I've been seeing them a lot and they are beautiful, so free, flying around.

I believe is the same with the word of God. There are some passages that you can read and read and read, but there comes a time when God opens your eyes and gives new meaning to what you are reading. Or how the same verse or passage can give you multiple lessons, you suddenly see and understand something that you've never realized before. No wonder in the Bible it says that His word is living and active.
